Reader, Last year, I launched way too many things in a short amount of time. The strange part? They worked. There were buyers for each project, but by the end of it, I was burnt out. As a multi-passionate entrepreneur, I’ve had my energy pulled in a lot of different directions. So maybe it’s no surprise that my word for this year is focus. But in all the madness, I can see the thread that runs through everything I create. It all starts with what sits underneath. That’s what Luminous has always been about. Yes, I wanted to photograph women and put them on the cover of a magazine. But I never wanted it to be only a “cover girl” moment. I wanted the cover to mean something. I wanted to know the woman behind it. Because the photograph was only ever one layer. The real story was always underneath it. I’ve been sitting with these stories for a while, and I’m finally ready to start sharing them. This is the first one. |
